playful encounters

Calling for Loons was part of a group exhibition – Playful Encounters. This piece is a story about asking silly questions. Ever since I was little, I’ve been practicing my loon call in hopes of communicating with them. Although I have yet to nail it – I’ve noticed that even the worst of my calls still somehow return in song. I’ve started to think of these as call-and-response moments, and have turned them into Q+A sessions. This small accordion-style book dives into those conversations; asking outlandish (and most of the times extremely intimate) questions, and how the loons answer back.
